The peanut is the only nut grown underground. 

 Americans consume 3,750,000 pounds of peanuts daily in all forms

Ninety percent of all pistachios are grown in Turkey and Iran

The macadamia, originating in Australia, was discovered around 1857, but was not harvested until the 1930’s.

The Brazil nut trees grow to a height of 150 feet and have a trunk diameter of nearly eight feet.

Walnuts are native to Persia, the Greeks called the walnut “the nut of Jupiter,” fit for the gods

The United States consumes over 90% of the world’s cashew crop.

The walnut tree is very hardy and is 15 years old before reaching full production.  The average tree produces for 45 years.

Point of sale

I like the general feel of this retail setup in this coffee shop in NYC. There are elements which I like that I may use in my point of sale like  wood and metal together

Wave

This logo is really cool, I like the type in the middle along with the type circling it. The EST.2010 looks really cool also.

Logo Inspiration

I think a circle design for a logo works well and I may take elements from these designs such as the type on a circled path. Lines to join up type at top and bottom. 

Gold

Through talking with Anand at Generation press I have gained some knowledge of how to make things look gold.


The 4 best ways of getting Gold are.

and also the "e" mark has to new to the wieght. It means estimated wieght

which is  is placed on pre-packaged goods to indicate conformance to the EU Directives regulating the average system. 

Oscar Levant = Nuts

Oscar Levant was a American pianist, composer, author, comedian, and actor.


In later Life her became addicted to prescription drugs and was frequently committed to mental hospitals by his wife. Despite his afflictions, Levant was considered a genius by some, in many areas. He himself wisecracked

Good Movie posters

These movie posters are really good. They all have only a small selection of colours which I will consider when designing. Again simplicity and a message are the keys to a great poster/front cover.

Back of packaging

Looked at some standard design elements of the nut packaging I've researched into.

They seem to have the Grams along with the 'e' which means estimated weight.

Nutritional information. Warnings. Recycling info. Allergy Advice.

Nuts

I looked round shops for nut packaging but almost all of the shops package the nuts in something similar to the picture below. Plastic packaging with just simple typography......boring.

Thats why I want to do something different that looks colourful and engaging. 

I went to Harvey Nichols, were I would propose my point of sale. There wasn't much in the way of nuts sold there but these two looked good. 

 The simple white information on the back works well with the Harvey Nichols nuts.

 This Kinomi brand ok nuts also had cool packaging. They also went along the route of showing the nuts in the package but at least its not just in a plastic bag.
